North Marine supported TSRA Rangers and Traditional Owners on a voyage aboard the Lady Ningaloo to remote islands in the northern parts of Australia.
North Marine supported CSIRO in conducting a Towed Camera Survey along the Great Barrier Reef between Cairns and Brisbane using the vessel Sea Horse.
In November 2024, North Marine was contracted by AMSA to investigate an unknown object resting on the seafloor at approximately 15m depth in the channel near Thursday Island.
North Marine, in collaboration with Pacific Marine Salvage, was contracted to remove and lawfully dispose of pollutants, harmful substances, and debris from the vessel ‘Endeavour Bay’ in Trinity Inlet, Cairns.
North Marine was contracted by Aurecon to conduct mud sampling in the inter-tidal areas of the Cairns Inlet.
North Marine supported Parks Australia in conducting a 9-day Coral Sea Marine Park (CSMP) Island Health Assessment voyage in July 2024.
North Marine was contracted by BMT to assist with buoy placement
and water sampling in the Cairns Inlet. The project involved the installation of continuous monitoring
stations for monthly water quality assessments in Smiths Creek. This is an ongoing project, with operations conducted once a month to support long-term environmental monitoring.
North Marine successfully delivered an emergency response generator to Lizard Island Resort aboard the Pacific Ranger
and Reef Safari.
Cyclone ‘Jasper’, a severe tropical cyclone that struck Far North Queensland in December 2023, caused widespread damage across the Cairns region and several Cape communities. ‘Jasper’ brought destructive winds, heavy rainfall, and flooding, leaving many areas in urgent need of support.
North Marine was engaged to conduct an urgent tow of a 70.3-meter cargo barge from the Port of Brisbane to Skardon River in Queensland, via Cairns.
North Marine was engaged to tow the vessel ‘Casabella’ from Coral Sea Marina in Airlie Beach to the slip at Rosshaven Marine in Townsville, QLD.
North Marine was engaged to install an additional 2 modular pontoons to the existing wharf system at MSQ Marine Operations Base in Cairns, for QLD Water Police.
