Turtle Monitoring – Remote Islands in the Northern Parts of Australia

In November 2024, North Marine supported TSRA Rangers and Traditional Owners on a voyage aboard the Lady Ningaloo to remote islands in the northern parts of Australia.

Scope of Work

The scope of work included nighttime turtle monitoring, focusing on mortality and rescue efforts, while shorebird and seabird surveys were conducted during the day to assess local wildlife populations.

North Marine also assisted with marine debris removal and seagrass surveys, contributing to ongoing conservation and environmental monitoring efforts aimed at preserving the unique marine and coastal ecosystems of the Torres Strait region.
