Navigational Aid Inspection & Thickness Testing in the Ports of Cairns & Weipa

North Marine is an FNQ local supplier contracted to deliver ‘navigational aid thickness testing’ on channel piles in the Port of Cairns and Port of Weipa.

Scope of Work

North Marine was engaged to deliver steel thickness testing on the FNQ navigational aid piles in the Ports of Cairns and Weipa for MSQ.

Crew and commercial divers on SSBA conduct ultrasonic thickness test readings and visual inspections of 12 navigational piles.

The methodology includes comprehensive assessment and data recording at established points on each pile, photography and cleaning of the sites.

Critically, works are conducted without interfering with shipping movements or traffic in the area.
