Since 2025, North Marine has partnered with the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) to provide marine logistics and vessel support for the Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program (RRAP) Pilot Deployments Program. Supporting multiple deployments each year, North Marine supplies fully crewed liveaboard research vessels, support vessels and tenders to assist AIMS scientists undertaking coral restoration and reef resilience activities throughout the Great Barrier Reef.

Depending on operational requirements, deployments are supported by M.V. Komodo or Lady Ningaloo, providing comfortable accommodation, catering, desalination, onboard power generation, dedicated scientific workspaces and the capability to undertake extended offshore operations in remote reef environments. Supported by aluminium and RIB tenders, North Marine delivers safe and efficient personnel transfers, shallow reef access, equipment transport and in-water operational support.

North Marine’s role includes supporting coral spawning operations, coral spawn collection and transport, larval pool deployment and towing, broodstock transport, seeding device deployment, reef monitoring, dive and snorkel operations and the transport of personnel and scientific equipment. Working alongside AIMS scientists and other collaborators, North Marine provides the vessels, experienced crew, logistics capability and local marine knowledge required to safely deliver these time-critical reef restoration activities.

Operating from North Wharf in Cairns, North Marine provides responsive mobilisation, flexible logistics and experienced personnel who adapt to changing environmental conditions, research priorities and coral spawning windows, ensuring the successful delivery of every deployment.
