Director, Courtney Hansen, has dedicated her life to the maritime industry and is the face of North Marine. Having worked in this sector for some time, our North Marine Director is highly respected throughout the industry for her depth of knowledge and expertise.

Our General Manager, Courtney Hansen, is a Master IV Skipper, diver and manager with thirteen years of experience in the marine services industry and nine years in the commercial sector. Under the previous owner, Courtney was a key crew member, working in the business before becoming an owner herself.
Courtney started her career in charter fishing and then as a dive boat Captain. Courtney was the first-ever permanent female Captain for Northern Australia’s largest freight shipping company. During her time there, Courtney was Master of a 50-meter, 1300-ton landing barge operating throughout the Eastern Seaboard, Torres Strait, Gulf of Carpentaria and Darwin.
Courtney has been recognised for her leadership and contributions to the maritime and business industries. In 2015, she won the ‘Lloyd’s List Young Maritime Professional of the Year’ and the ‘Emerging Leadership Awards’ at the Cairns Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards in 2022. In 2025, Courtney was honored with the ‘Woman of the Year’ Award at the Cairns Regional Council’s International Women’s Day Awards, which celebrates women who demonstrate exceptional leadership, serve as role models, and make a lasting impact on the community.
As Business Development Manager, Courtney will be most clients’ first point of contact with North Marine.
