North Marine is committed to improving environmental outcomes, creating employment pathways and supporting organisations that deliver meaningful impact within the communities in which we operate.

Training & Employment Pathways

North Marine proudly established the Commercial Diving Traineeship Program, the first of its kind in Far North Queensland, providing structured training and formal qualifications to support long-term careers in the maritime industry.

The first group of trainees completed the program in 2022, with ongoing plans to expand and continue building workforce capability in the region.

We also support Indigenous employment pathways through engagement with AFL Cape York House and provide maritime work experience opportunities for Year 12 students in Cairns, offering practical exposure to careers on the water.

Our team also contributes to community initiatives through volunteer programs, including PCYC Queensland’s Breaking the Cycle Mentor Program.

Environmental Responsibility

North Marine is committed to delivering environmentally responsible operations across all projects.

We work closely with Traditional Owners, scientists and marine experts to ensure best practice and minimise environmental impact in sensitive marine environments.

Our operations are guided by a long-term commitment to sustainability, including the development and installation of innovative mooring systems designed to protect reef ecosystems by reducing anchor damage.

We also support initiatives aimed at reducing marine debris and ocean pollution, contributing vessels, crew and expertise to environmental programs and research activities.

North Marine recognises the impacts of climate change on marine environments and incorporates practical measures to reduce emissions, improve efficiency and support sustainable operations.

Capability & Sustainability Statement

Giving back to the community is a core part of North Marine’s operations. We are committed to improving environmental outcomes, developing employment pathways and supporting organisations across our region.
