North Marine offer hourly and daily crew transfer vessel rates, in line with industry standards.

Our rates include time loading and unloading transferring crew, machinery or provisions. Quotes incorporate loading time at the wharf, unloading to the ship and transit times to and from a vessel, and are subject to change.

Use of our hi-ab crane-truck or dogman and franna crane may incur additional charges.

Facilities Onboard Our Crew Transfer Vessels (CTV’s)

What facilities are onboard our crew transfer vessels?

All crew transfer vessels (CTVs) have a fully air-conditioned interior for passenger comfort.

Vessels can accommodate up to 12 or 14 passengers per transit/boat.*

Launch boats are equipped with standard facilities – including a full galley, tea and coffee.

Berths are available for transiting crew on extended operations and where COVID-safety procedures dictate.

Launch Boat – Gulf Explorer

Our launch vessel, Gulf Explorer, has ample deck space to accommodate your cargo requirements.

She is equipped with a 30meter³ hold for additional cargo/stores, with the option for an on-deck walk-in fridge/freezer unit to store refrigerated provisions.

Launch Boat – Viking

The crew transfer vessel, Viking, can accommodate moderate amounts of cargo. She is primarily deployed as a crew transfer vessel in Cairns Port.

Launch Service Area

We transfer goods by sea anywhere inside the Australian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

Our primary operating ports are The Port of Cairns and The Port of Mackay.

Upon request, we can discuss options for ocean launch services from other North Queensland Ports, including the Torres Strait.

 

Delivery Storage Facilities

We have a large marine storage warehouse in the Cairns City business district and a waterfront marine facility in Cairns Port, North Wharf.

Our ample waterfront tenure has 2800m² of land, with indoor and outdoor storage space.

We may take and store deliveries of engine parts, freight and general cargo ready for transport to your ship.

Doctor Launch Service to Ship in Queensland for COVID testing CrewNorth Marine will transport a doctor directly to your ship to conduct COVID testing. * This is a service offered to all vessels in Queensland.

We can transfer a doctor to your vessel to conduct COVID testing before arriving at its next Port in Australia.

Ships owners and agents can request COVID testing as part of your safety management and risk management protocol.

Furthermore, Government authorities may mandate testing aboard a vessel if any crew have been showing symptoms.

Queensland Health, Biosecurity Queensland (Department of Agriculture and Fisheries), or Australian Border Force (customs) may apply this measure.

Queensland Border Restrictions During COVID-19

Will a ships freight, equipment and crew be able to cross the border into Queensland given COVID-19?

All ships must comply with federal, state or territory health directions.

This includes crew movements, isolation and social distancing requirements.

Domestic crew, equipment and freight, along with foreign-flagged ships, may enter Queensland after obtaining the relevant permissions from the applicable authorities.
